Developer site terms of use.

1. Who we are and what these terms cover

These terms govern your use of the Olympus Pay developer site at developer.olympuspay.co and its API reference at api.olympuspay.co (the "Developer Site"), including the documentation, the OpenAPI specification and the Postman collections it publishes. The Developer Site is operated by Olympus Pay Proprietary Limited (Registration No. BW00009700756), Plot 69184, Block 8, Science and Technology Park, Gaborone, Botswana, and, for United Kingdom visitors, by Olympus Pay Limited, 14/2E Docklands Business Centre, 10-16 Tiller Road, London, United Kingdom, E14 8PX.

Olympus Pay is a financial technology company. Financial, banking-type or identity services are provided through regulated Olympus entities and, where applicable, through authorised and licensed partners in accordance with applicable laws, depending on region.

These terms sit alongside the Olympus website terms of use, which apply to all Olympus websites. If the two differ on the Developer Site, these terms apply.

2. Accepting these terms

By using the Developer Site you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use it. If you use it for a business, you confirm you are authorised to bind that business.

3. Information only

The Developer Site describes how to integrate with Olympus. It is not an offer to provide any product or service, and it is not financial, investment, treasury, tax, legal or foreign exchange advice. Access to the Olympus API depends on onboarding, verification, your country and the regulatory conditions that apply to Olympus there.

• Endpoints, fields and behaviour marked "planned" or "coming soon" are not yet available and can change.
• Fees and rates mentioned are set out on the Olympus pricing pages. Fees can change on at least 30 days’ written notice.
• Examples use sample data. They move no real money.

4. Using the API and your keys

Documentation and specifications are published so that you can build integrations. Using the Olympus API is governed by the agreement for your merchant or business account, in addition to these terms.

• Keep API keys and webhook secrets confidential. Use them only from your servers, never in browser code or mobile apps, and never publish them.
• You are responsible for activity carried out with your keys. Tell us straight away at security@olympuspay.co if a key is exposed, and rotate it.
• Build and test with test keys and the sandbox before using live keys.
• Follow the rate limits, idempotency and authentication rules in the reference. We may throttle or suspend keys that put the platform at risk.
• Sandbox behaviour can differ from live behaviour in some cases, and we do not promise that they match.

5. Acceptable use

You agree to use the Developer Site and the API lawfully and fairly. You must not:

• break the law, or use Olympus for fraud, money laundering or any other unlawful purpose
• attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Developer Site, Olympus systems or another customer’s data, or to disrupt them
• run automated tools that place an unreasonable load on the Developer Site
• introduce malware, or test the security of Olympus services without written permission
• pretend to be Olympus or to be connected with Olympus when you are not

If you find a security vulnerability, report it to security@olympuspay.co and please do not test against other people’s data.

6. Intellectual property and licence

The Developer Site, its design and text, and the Olympus, Olympus Pay and related names and logos belong to Olympus Group Holdings, Inc., its group companies or their licensors. You may read, copy and use the documentation, the OpenAPI specification and the Postman collections to build and maintain integrations with Olympus. Any other use needs our written permission. Provider names and marks shown on the Developer Site belong to their owners and imply no endorsement or partnership.

7. Your information

We handle personal information under the Data Protection Act 2024 of Botswana and, where they apply, the UK GDPR and the EU GDPR, as set out in the Olympus Privacy Policy. To close an account or ask for erasure, use the account closure and erasure page.

The Developer Site sets no cookies and runs no advertising or analytics trackers. The API reference loads its interface files from public content delivery networks, which see your IP address when they deliver them.

8. Links to other sites

The Developer Site links to other websites and services. We do not control them and are not responsible for their content or practices.

9. Availability

We aim to keep the Developer Site available but do not promise uninterrupted or error-free access. We may change, suspend or remove any part of it at any time, for example for maintenance, security or version changes to the API. Where we can, we give notice of changes that break existing integrations.

10. Disclaimers and liability

The Developer Site and its content are provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent the law allows, Olympus gives no warranty about them and is not liable for loss caused by relying on them, for loss of profit, business or data, or for indirect or consequential loss. Liability for the API and live services is set by your account agreement.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited by law, including liability for fraud, or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The version published here, with its effective date, applies when you use the Developer Site. If you keep using it after a change, you accept the updated terms.

12. Governing law and contact

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Botswana and the courts of Botswana have jurisdiction, except that if you are a consumer elsewhere, you keep the protection of the mandatory rules of the country where you live.
